| LCD or flat screen computer monitors give a modern fresh look and save space on your desk. Are they better on all counts? | |||||
Is the new medium perfect? Well, the most challenging part of this new technology is how colours present on screen. They are not the same! Try it out by placing your laptop (LCD screen) next to your old desktop (if it still has a CRT screen). You will notice many greys, yellows and greens will have a marked difference. LCD (flat) screens also give different colours and clarity depending on which direction you view the screen. If you tilt your laptop screen forward - the image will be pale, tilt it backward - the image will be darker. From the sides, it may disappear! Bear this in mind next time you are carefully choosing a particular colour on screen. Especially if you are discussing a colour over the phone while each party has a webpage or file open in front of them. The party viewing an image on a flat screen is likely to be viewing a totally different image from the other on a CRT. Live By Design has retained both types of screens, to make sure colours on both monitor types appear as they are intended. |
